We gather detailed information on plants producing batteries and modules for electric vehicles and energy storage systems, covering aspects from production to recycling and metal compound extraction.
Key information:
- Location and operator: We document the plant's geographical location to at least the state/province level and the managing entity.
- Sector and product:
- Annual rated capacity of each product; this data is used to calculate potential downstream industry capacity, such as electric vehicles and energy storage systems.
- Production phasing, considering the time required for production to reach full utilization.
- Technical specifications like battery size and energy density (in development).
- Operation status: We track the production start date or the projected operational year. If the estimated date is undisclosed, we assume that production will commence two years after the manufacturing plant is announced or under construction in China and three years for the rest of the world.
Renewable portfolio
This category encompasses a wide range of renewable assets, including solar farms, wind farms, and energy storage systems.
Key information:
- Location: We document the geographical details of each renewable asset.
- Asset details:
- Asset type (e.g., solar farm, wind farm, energy storage system).
- Capacity, indicating power generation or storage capabilities.
- Phase and status, with assets marked as procuring during the procurement phase, and procured once equipment procurement is finalized, signaling readiness for construction.
- Technical specifications, including technology and application for energy storage systems, total cost, and asset lifetime(in development).

- The breakdown of investment or procurement costs from respective project participants (in development).
